Crystals have the amazing ability to harness the universe’s energies! They are incredibly powerful little treasures, but sometimes they need a helping hand, literally, to maintain their peak effectiveness. Your crystals need a virtuous cleansing!
Unless you have purchased your gemstones or Jewellery from Calm Blue C, as soon as you get your new crystal home you are going to want to cleanse it thoroughly. You don’t know who has handled it and what kind of negative energies it might have picked up. A profound cleansing will return your crystal to pristine condition, and allow it to tune with your being.
It probably seems pretty obvious that any new crystal should be cleansed, but if you’re thinking that’s the end of your cleansing duties, think again! Crystals absorb negative energies, and they will eventually become so over-saturated that their effectiveness begins to wane over time. Even our gemstones and Jewellery will need some TLC.
To ensure that your crystals are happy and healthy you will want to perform regular cleansings. Even though the negative energies they absorb are YOUR energies (unlike any that you wiped away in your initial cleansing) they’re still slightly negative, and you don’t want them sticking around any longer than necessary.
So how often should you cleanse your crystals? That really depends on the person and the crystal. As a general rule consider using your own intuition for the crystals that you wear on your person if you have had a difficult day or are surrounded by difficult people on a daily basis then weekly could be the right time to consider a cleansing ritual. It is especially important if anyone has touched them. “Ah! What a beautiful bracelet! You must tell me where you bought it!” Yes, those people.
If you don’t have such a trying time out and about then a monthly cleansing ritual should suffice.
For crystals that are more ornate and placed throughout your home, then six months or annually just to make sure they know they are loved and to let their vibrancy glow.
